A few days ago, I bought “Phil Collins Hits”. I've always been a fan of Phil Collins (and Genesis), but this is the first album I've purchased. I'm definitely happy with my purchase and I'll be adding more of his albums to my collection.
I think I have “Illegal Alien“ from Genesis' “Genesis“ album on 45 somewhere around here. That was such a great song (and the video was cool too).
While on the subject of music, I was clicking through some of my albums (in Windows Media Player) and, being a huge fan of 80's music, stopped at my 'Duran Duran' folder. :-) Keep in mind that I was 8 in 1980, so my formative years were spent in the 80's. My sister (3 years older than me) always listened to cool stuff like 'The Cure', 'Siouxsie and the Banshees', 'Prince', 'Adam Ant', so of course, I'd “borrow“ her albums (remember vinyl??) or her tapes and listen to them (even though it led to many a conflict with her).
Even now, I'd rather listen to a classic Prince album (like Controversy or Dirty Mind) or any of Duran Duran's early albums (pre-Liberty) than almost anything that's played on M-TV these days. Of course, this is heavily balanced by my strong need to hear Metallica at least once a day. ;-)
Anyway, so I started listening to 'The Chauffeur' and it was sooo bizarre....chills down my spine....a strange feeling of comfort like I was back home, sitting in my room....pretending to understand what they were singing about....so peaceful... then I was brought back to 2005 - sitting in my home office talking to my wife of 8 years about how much fun our 2 kids are. :-)
