I was working late sometime last week when my UPS beeped.  I didn't think anything of it because all my systems stayed running.  The next day, I fired up my browser, but my home page didn't come up.  The intranet has been running on an old P2-400 with 384MB of RAM that I bought in 98'.  When the site didn't come up, I tried pinging the system.  Nothing.  Since it's a headless system, I tried connecting via Remote Desktop, but still NO-GO.  Bummer.  I ended up doing a hard reset of the system (after hooking up a monitor).  Inaccessible boot device. :-\  Double bummer.

Anyway, so I powered the system down and it's been sitting quiet since then.  Today I decided to pull the drives and check them using an external drive bay.  Each of the two physical drives came up with no problems, so after vacuuming the old P2 workhorse out, I reinstalled the drives and started the machine.

IT STILL WORKS!  Woohoo!! :-)

I know I should retire it, but it's been such a solid system, I hate to do it.

Update/clarification: I don't actually use the system for anything other than serving files and ASP.
