and this post from Slacker Manager couldn't have come at a better time:
Motivation Assasination
Brendon says: “What I know is that the motivation sniper hides in the shadowy corners of my psyche, taking aim at my motivation to move ahead on projects big and small. “
I've been in this funk for the past few weeks. I know some of it can be attributed to things going on at work:
1. Two good friends have moved on to bigger and better things
2. Other people have shown their true colors (respect--)
3. I'm still dealing with stuff like this.
4. I miss being an independent consultant/contractor.
While some of my motivation problems are work-related, I'm also feeling it at home as well. I have a stack of books (mostly technical, but some non-tech as well) almost as tall as my 4-year old. :-\ With the release of .NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005, I'm more overwhelmed than ever. There are soooo many things I want to dive into, but there just aren't enough hours in the day. Not that it really matters anyway, because my employer doesn't plan on moving to 2.0 anyway.
I have un-finished woodworking projects along with new projects I want to start. We have more painting to do....the list goes on an on.
I think I need another vacation. :-)
