The kids were up around 7:30 on Christmas morning.  We held them off as long as we could, but finally relented around 7:45.  Our daughter (4, almost 5) is really into Christmas this year and was glad to see that Santa had eaten the cookies and drank the chocolate milk she had left out for him.  Our son (2) took some time before really getting into the opening of presents.

Our daughter got a lot of princess / kim possible stuff while our son expanded his collection of Thomas the Tank Engine toys.  I came away with several DVDs, an XBox game (but alas...no Xbox 360) and some clothes.  My wife scored some movies, some books and a new watch.  Overall, it was a great start to Christmas day.

Around 10:30a, I started getting things ready for our Christmas “dinner”.  We typically eat our holiday dinners in the early-to-mid afternoon.  Anyway, I put the ham in the oven around 11am and then had an overwhelming urge to lay down, so after making my way up-stairs, I ended up in my daughters room (the closest bed).  I told my wife I had to take a nap and to wake me around 12:30.

At 12:30 she woke me up but I felt horrible...like I needed to stay in bed.  I forced myself up since my mom and my sister + her family were coming to dinner.  I managed to get downstairs before realizing I was going to get sick in a most unpleasant way.  After getting back up to my bedroom, I managed to stay vomit-free, but I did stay in bed (with a temp of 102) until 10am Monday morning.  It's now 10pm Monday night and I feel much better, although not quite 100% yet.  I have to go into work tomorrow, so I'm hoping that by tomorrow morning I'll be back to normal.
