After several years of being a satisfied Gateway user, I've decided to build a new development system.  Here are the specs:

AMD 64 X2 3800+
4 GB RAM
EVGA 6600GT 128MB PCI Express video card
2 x 250 GB Seagate Barracuda SATA 150 drives
LiteOn DVD Burner with LiteScribe
an Antec ATX MidTower case with 450 watt power supply
2 x 17“ ViewSonic VA712B LCDs!

The parts should arrive the middle of next week. :-)

The new system will become my primary development system, my current desktop (AMD Athlon 3000+ w/2GB RAM) will become my backup development system and gaming machine.  My laptop will live on to run Outlook and Trillan. :-)

I'll probably be retiring the old P2-400 workhorse because I'm quickly running out of space in my office.
