My old laptop is going on 5 years old.  So, after reading this and this, I couldn't stand it anymore. :-) 

I'm typing this on my brand spankin' new Acer TravelMate 8204WLMI.  Holy f'in cow...this is a nice piece of hardware.  With the wide-screen, 2GB of RAM, dedicated video card with 254MB of RAM, a 120GB drive, DVD burner, yada yada yada, I'm very, very happy with my decision to spend the $$$ on this laptop.  The fact is, even though I'm on “vacation“, I need to work and the old laptop wasn't gonna cut it.  I briefly thought about bringing my wife's laptop and remoting into my desktop at home, but decided against it.  That would have required me leaving systems on at home and praying that the power didn't go out or the cable modem didn't flake out.

So, I had this new system “next day'd“ so I'd have it to bring along.  The only complaint I have about the whole process is that I never received email from the vendor that the laptop shipped until the damn thing actually arrived. :-\  WTF?
