I think I need a vacation. ;-)
We hit the water again on Saturday...it was a beautiful day -- around 80 and sunny. We anchored at an island a few miles out from the marina so the kids could swim and play at the beach. The water was *great*. In fact, everything was great until we decided to head back in. The wind picked up which made for really choppy water which in turn made for a pretty rough ride.
Sunday was a day of rest and our son's 3rd birthday. Wait...is that possible? :-) Anyway, it was a pretty relaxed day. We briefly discussed leaving for home on Sunday, but decided to stick with our plans and leave on Monday.
The drive home was uneventful. Of course, Ohio was the most boring, brutal part of the trip. :-) We left at 7am and pulled into our garage around 5:30. Total miles driven: ~1300. Total time in the car (both days of driving): 22 hours. DVD Player in the car: priceless. :-)
Some high points of our trip:
My wife and her sister saw Faith Hill and Tim McGraw in concert. Not my kind of music, but she had fun.
We missed Gettysburg, but spent some great time out on Chesapeake Bay.
Because of the bad weather, we missed DC, but that means we'll be going back again in the fall (September or October).
